Arctic Space, light projection, sound, 2023
With visuals adapted from a show of the arctic and polar bears at night, a James Turrell inspired space was created, with an additional orange glow added through the industrial lighting that was outside of the space. Thought the space, a slow moving song plays that was created through processing ice melt data that compiled from a NASA satellite. Utilizing division and modulo equations, the data was mapped into pitches in a midi file, which was then played through a synthesizer.
